Hi,

I’m Joe Zambon, I’ve just completed four years studying for the degree of BEng (Hons) Network Engineering at Staffordshire University.  This four years included a year for a placement within the industry.  I chose to work for a technology college within the West Midlands as a Network Technician.  My primary responsibilities were for network hardware and infrastructure, inclusive of internet connections, remote access technologies and UNIX based technologies, amongst other roles.  During my time at the college I lead the project for a centrally managed wireless network from product investigation, to tender, right through to installation and future installations.

My undergraduate dissertation was titled “A Comparative Study on the Spectral Efficiency of 3G and 4G Wireless Data Networks.”  This involved being able to discern the trends in development for the 802.11 wireless networks and make some attempt to discuss how technology will progress into 4G in the future.

I graduated with a 2:1.
